Sa vz. 58 (Blackwood Division)

Firearms · CZ

The Sa vz. 58 (7,62mm samopal vzor 58) is a 7.62×39mm assault rifle developed in Czechoslovakia in the late 1950s. Despite its visual similarity to the Soviet AK-47, the vz. 58 is a completely independent design, sharing no interchangeable parts with the Kalashnikov. It uses a short-stroke gas piston system, a milled steel receiver, and a distinctive linear hammer-fired mechanism with a hinged bolt locking piece. Compared to the AK-47, it is lighter and features a bolt hold-open device that engages after the final round is fired.
