FAMAS

The FAMAS is a French bullpup assault rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm, developed by the Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Étienne and adopted by the French military in the late 1970s. Its compact bullpup layout and distinctive carry handle give the rifle an unmistakable appearance, while its unusual lever-delayed blowback system sets it apart mechanically from most contemporary assault rifles. Designed as a versatile infantry weapon, the FAMAS became one of the most recognizable symbols of the French Armed Forces.
